Second annual free Halloween celebration for kids and families at Smith's Ballpark with trunk-or-treat, games, candy and costume parades.
Field of Screams returns to Smith's Ballpark on Friday, October 30, from 3 PM to 6 PM. It's the second annual Halloween celebration for kids and families put on by the Ballpark Action Team, and it's built with the neighborhood's children in mind. Last year nearly 800 kids, parents, and teachers showed up in costume for trick-or-treating, games, and a costume parade, and the whole thing was free.
The afternoon is a mix of a few different activities. There's a trunk-or-treat, games, and candy, and two costume parades that go around the bases with prizes for the participants. There's also free coffee for the adults. If you're bringing kids, keep in mind that anyone under 14 needs to come with a parent or legal guardian. Parking is free.
The day is run entirely by volunteers and made possible by community sponsors and donors. The Ballpark Action Team itself is an all-volunteer nonprofit that works year-round to strengthen and activate the Ballpark neighborhood, so this is one of the ways they bring people together in the area.
