Workshop led by Jeanette Lukens to design, carve and print your own original piece on a linoleum block.
Tracy Aviary is hosting a woodcut printing workshop in Liberty Park on Friday, October 23, from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. The session is led by Jeanette Lukens, the aviary's former Artist in Residence, and runs under the tagline 'Design Your Own Original Piece.'
It's a full process in one evening: you'll design your own image, carve it into a small linoleum block, and then print it onto a 5 x 7 piece of paper. If you've never worked with a carving tool before, that's fine—the whole sequence happens right there in the room, so you'll walk through the design, the carving, and the printing in one go. You'll leave with a finished print of your own making.
