All-ages show by Toronto garage punk and psych rock band Wine Lips with support from Sleep Cult at the Temple of Friends.
Wine Lips are playing Temple of Friends on Friday, October 30, with Sleep Cult opening. It's an all-ages show, so you can bring whoever you want.
Wine Lips are a Toronto-based garage punk and psych rock band that started in the fall of 2015 as a part-time project between songwriter and guitarist Cam Hilborn and drummer Aurora Evans. They spent their early days playing clubs in Toronto and then worked their way out to surrounding Ontario cities and Quebec. Their self-titled debut LP came out on the indie label Fried Records in 2017, and they toured five provinces east to Halifax afterward. In April 2018, they took the show to Hong Kong and China.
Their follow-up LP, Stressor, arrived in March 2019. Their third full-length, Mushroom Death Sex Bummer Party, was recorded in 2020 at The Sugar Shack in London, Ontario, with Simon Larochette. These three records trace the band's path from those first Toronto clubs through the East Coast and over to Asia. The lineup now consists of Cam Hilborn on guitar and vocals, Aurora Evans on drums, and Charlie Weare on bass.
