Screening of Warren Miller's 77th annual film 'Days Off', hosted and introduced by director Katie Burrell, who makes a special live appearance.
Warren Miller's latest film, Days Off, screens at The Depot on Friday, November 6. It's the 77th annual release from the studio, and this one is billed as the ultimate pre-season party. The film is hosted and introduced by director Katie Burrell, who'll be there in person to share behind-the-scenes stories from the production.
Days Off follows the people at the center of the ski world on their days off. It takes you around the globe: skijoring in Banff, joining Craig McMorris and friends in Whistler, exploring the spines of Alaska with Sam Kuch and Craig Murray, and watching Jess Kimura push her snowboarding. Along the way, the film stops at Deer Valley, Canada, and the deep powder of Japan. It's a look at what these athletes do when they aren't competing, and it's built around the places they go when the cameras aren't usually rolling.
Burrell's live appearance adds a bit more to the screening, as she'll talk through the making of the film and share stories from the shoot. If you're already counting down the days until the snow starts falling, this is a good way to get in the mood before the season actually kicks off.
