Farcical comedy by Troy Deutsch about the eccentric Sharp family trying to sell their late father's lakeside home on the Great Salt Lake.
Salt Lake Acting Company is running Very Like a Whale in their Upstairs Theatre through October 25, a farcical comedy by Troy Deutsch directed by Alexandra Harbold. The story centers on the eccentric Sharp family, who reunite to sell their late father's lakeside home on the disappearing Great Salt Lake. Chaos erupts as they confront their legacy and the truth beneath the salty water outside their window. It's a comedy that pulls in grief, lineage, and a planet in crisis, and the production partners with FRIENDS of Great Salt Lake and The Great Salt Lake Hopeline. Local critics have called it a "demented delight" and "absurdly chaotic."
The cast is a large one: Olivia Custodio, Megan M. Scott McLean, Chester, Sarah Shippobotham, Miss Penelope Dickinson, Robert Scott Smith, Greg, Yolanda Stange, Ben Young, Mack Barr, Devoree Ellis, and Max. The show runs 105 minutes.
