Women's college basketball game between the Utah Utes and Bethune-Cookman at the Huntsman Center.
Utah Utes Women's Basketball takes on Bethune-Cookman at the Jon M. Huntsman Center on Monday, Nov 9, at 7 PM. It's one of the early home games of the season, and if you've been following the program, there's a lot to keep an eye on this year.
The Utes are now playing in the Big 12, and they're coming off a strong run: five straight postseason appearances and four consecutive 20-win seasons. That's a high bar to maintain, and the roster they're doing it with looks a bit different this time around. Head coach Gavin Petersen is working with a squad rebuilt around nine newcomers, five of whom are transfers. Four players return from last year's team, so it's a mix of fresh faces and a small core that knows how this program operates.
Beyond this game, the non-conference schedule takes them to the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase at Mohegan Sun, and the regular season wraps up with a second trip to Provo to take on rival BYU. This matchup against Bethune-Cookman is part of that early stretch before the Big 12 schedule really kicks in.
