T.J. Miller: The Gentle Giant Tour

T.J. Miller brings his The Gentle Giant Tour to The Showroom at Wiseguys Comedy Club on Friday, December 11, and Saturday, December 12. If you've seen him on screen, you know the energy he brings; this is him doing stand-up.

Miller bills his comedy as "Smooth Like Fire, Hip Like Lincoln," and he's a skilled improviser who says no two of his shows are ever the same. He describes his work as spending more than two and a half years trying to make people laugh because life is tragic, and that's the best thing he can do. If you want to get a feel for his style before you go, he has three hour-long specials available to stream: DEAR JONAH on YouTube, METICULOUSLY RIDICULOUS on HBO, and NO REAL REASON on Comedy Central.

Beyond the stage, he's a prolific voice actor. He voiced Gene in The Emoji Movie, Fred in Disney's Big Hero 6, Tuffnut in the How to Train Your Dragon films, Robbie in Gravity Falls, Randy in F is for Family, and a volcano in Family Guy. He also played Auggie in the stop-motion film Hell and Back. On television, he earned a Critics' Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Silicon Valley, and has appeared in Garfunkel and Oats, Happy Endings, Kimmel, Ferguson, Colbert, and Conan, and guest-hosted Chelsea Lately.

The club is The Showroom at Wiseguys Comedy Club, located at The Gateway, 190 South 400 West in Salt Lake City. Doors open at 6 PM on Friday; tickets are $40.
