Collaborative dance and music show with six new works by Fem Dance Company and NEXT Ensemble, recommended for all ages.
Fem Dance Company and NEXT Ensemble are teaming up for The Shape of Sound, a collaborative show running Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24, at the Regent Street Black Box inside the Eccles Theater. The two groups are coming together to put six new works of live music and dance on one stage, with the whole evening built around how music and movement intertwine. It's a joint production, so you'll see the dancers and the musicians working off each other in real time rather than the dance being set to a recording.
Six new pieces make up the bill, and they're all being performed live. The show runs 75 minutes with a ten-minute intermission, and it's recommended for all agesβchildren 13 months and under don't need a ticket if they're being held. The two ensembles are the main feature here, and the focus is on the collaboration between them.
