Hands-on science program where students explore the colorful connections between art and science through creative experiments.
Super Science Saturday: Canvas of Curiosity is coming to the Natural History Museum of Utah on Saturday, October 24, from 9:15 AM to 12:15 PM. It's part of the museum's Super Science Saturday series, which brings hands-on science programs to the museum on Saturday mornings.
This particular session, Canvas of Curiosity, focuses on the intersection of art and science. The whole morning is built around creative experiments that let students explore the colorful connections between the two. Instead of just reading about how things work, you'll be doing the work yourself—mixing, building, and observing firsthand how scientific principles show up in the things we create. It's a hands-on program, so it's designed for students to get their hands dirty and see the science happen in real time.
If you've got kids who love to draw or paint but also ask a million questions about how the world works, this is exactly the kind of thing that hits both. It takes the curiosity of an art project and backs it up with the why from the science side. The museum is in Salt Lake City, and the session runs for three hours, so there's plenty of time to work through the experiments without rushing.
