Former Police drummer Stewart Copeland brings his spoken-word show 'Have I Said Too Much', with conversation, photos, videos and a Q&A.
Stewart Copeland brings his first American spoken-word tour to the Jeanné Wagner Theatre at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center on Sunday, November 1. The show is called Have I Said Too Much, and it's a departure from the stage he's most known for. Instead of sitting behind a drum kit, Copeland spends the evening talking.
Most people know him as the drummer and co-founder of The Police, the most successful rock band of the 1980s. Beyond that, he's a multi-Grammy winner and a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. But the music is only part of the story: he's also a composer of film scores, video games and operas, and he works as a writer and filmmaker. Have I Said Too Much is his first time taking that whole body of work on the road as a spoken-word show, and he describes it as an evening of conversation about it all, told in his usual funny, intelligent, sharp and unique way. It's not just a monologue, either—the talk is built around photos and videos, and there's a Q&A at the end.
The show is presented by S&S and is recommended for all ages, so it works as a family outing as much as a night for people who've followed his career since the early days. One thing to keep in mind: everyone needs a ticket, including infants being held.
