Book talk with Sofia Franklyn, co-creator of 'Call Her Daddy', to discuss her memoir 'Daddy Issues', with a signed copy included with each ticket.
Sofia Franklyn is coming to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday, November 14, for an evening centered on her memoir, Daddy Issues. The event is presented by The King's English Bookshop, and it's a ticketed affair that goes beyond just a reading: every ticket includes a signed copy of the book, and you can take a photo with Franklyn after the discussion. If you can't make the night, signed copies are also available through the bookstore's website.
For those who know her from the podcasting world, Franklyn is the co-creator of Call Her Daddy and the current host of Sofia with an F. Daddy Issues is her memoir, an unflinching account of her relationship with Alex Cooper—the other half of the original Call Her Daddy duo—and the fallout that followed when their partnership imploded. It's a story about the rise and the crash of one of the biggest podcasts in the country, told from the inside.
Franklyn frames the book as a testimony rather than a story of revenge. She describes it as a raw, darkly funny portrait of girlhood, friendship, sexuality, agency, and healing—the kind of personal account that looks at the wreckage of a professional split and finds something human in the middle of it. The evening will be a discussion around those themes, with Franklyn there to talk through the material in person.
