Punkie Johnson

Punkie Johnson is bringing her stand-up to Wiseguys Comedy Club on Friday, October 23, with a 6:30 PM start. If you've seen her on TV, you've probably recognized her as part of the Saturday Night Live cast, which she joined in 2020. She's a comedian and writer from New Orleans, Louisiana, and this is a headlining set where she takes the stage herself.

Before SNL, Johnson built a solid run across sketch and scripted comedy. She was on A Black Lady Sketch Show on HBO, and she appeared in Space Force on Netflix. She also worked on Bill Burr Presents: The Ringers for Comedy Central. That mix of sketch and stand-up is a good way to frame her—she's spent as much time writing for other shows as she has performing her own material, and she's been doing it across a few different networks.

Wiseguys is downtown, at 194 South 400 West in Salt Lake City, so it's an easy spot to get to if you're already in the city center. Tickets are $25, and the show starts at 6:30 PM on Friday, October 23.
