A free open practice session run by Utah Classical Guitar for guitarists to play ensemble pieces, share projects and discuss all things guitar.
Utah Classical Guitar is hosting another open practice session at the Salt Lake City Public Library Glendale Branch on Saturday, December 12, from 10 AM to 1 PM. It's a friendly gathering for guitarists to play music, share what they're working on, and talk through just about anything guitar-related.
There's no set program to follow, so the morning tends to shape itself around whoever shows up. A good chunk of the time—usually an hour or two—goes toward fun and easy ensemble pieces that the group can play together. From there, the session often opens up for people to take turns playing a solo for everyone else, which is a low-pressure way to get some ears on a piece you've been practicing in private. Between the playing, there's plenty of room to ask questions or just talk shop with other players.

It's a bring-your-own-gear kind of morning: you'll need your own guitar and a music stand, and a digital tablet is welcome if that's how you read your music. The session is run by Utah Classical Guitar, and the whole thing is free, so you can drop in for the full three hours or just stop by for a bit. You'll find it at the Glendale Branch, 1375 South Concord, Salt Lake City, UT 84104, on Saturday, December 12, from 10 AM to 1 PM.
