Pet Portrait Decoration/Decoración de cuadros para mascotas

The Salt Lake City Public Library Glendale Branch is hosting a pet portrait decoration workshop on Wednesday, October 21, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. It's a family-friendly session where you can spend an evening decorating a frame for a photo of your pet.

The whole thing is inspired by a Mexican tradition of honoring pets, celebrated every October 27 when Mexico pays tribute to people's best friends. The library is keeping that custom alive here in Salt Lake, and the workshop is their way of bringing it to the community. It's a low-pressure, creative way to spend a few hours with your kids and a photo of your favorite animal.

As for the photo itself, you've got a couple of options. You can bring a 4x6" printed picture from home, or if you only have a digital image on your phone, the library can help you print it on the spot. Once you have your photo, you'll spend the session decorating the frame around it, so you'll leave with a finished piece ready to hang on the wall.

The workshop runs from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, October 21, at the Glendale Branch, 1375 South Concord, Salt Lake City, UT 84104.
