Evening at Golden Braid Books to meet local authors, who read from their work and sign copies for readers.
Golden Braid Books is hosting a Local Author Appreciation Night on Thursday, November 19, from 5 PM to 7 PM. It's part of their ongoing celebration of local authors, and the evening is built around letting readers meet the people behind the books.
The authors on hand write across a wide range of genres, from fiction and children's literature to memoir and beyond. Throughout the night, they'll take turns reading from their work, so you get to hear a bit of what they do before you decide which one to take home. You buy your copies directly from the authors, and each one is personally autographed on the spot.
If you've spent any time in the city's literary scene, you know how rare it is to have this many local writers in one room at once. It's a good chance to find something new to read and to talk to the people who wrote it, rather than just picking a title off a shelf. The mix of genres means you can walk in with no particular preference and leave with a few different things—maybe a novel, a children's book, and a memoir—all from writers living right here in the valley.
