Guadalajara band Ladrones brings their 'Arriba La L' US headlining tour to The Urban Lounge, with support from Empty Shell Casing.
Ladrones play The Urban Lounge on Tuesday, December 1, at 7 PM. They're coming from Guadalajara, Mexico, as part of Arriba La L, their first headlining tour across the United States. The Salt Lake City date is one of sixteen stops on the run, which kicks off at Trees in Dallas on November 13 and wraps up at Black Sheep in Colorado Springs on December 4.
If you haven't heard of them, Ladrones sit at a strange crossroads of metal and regional Mexican music. Fans describe it as a unique twist of Spanish rap and metal, and the band frames the whole tour as taking their #FlowPesado everywhere they go. They're not alone on the bill, either: Empty Shell Casing, whom the band calls "our boys," are along for the ride as support.
Between the metal and the regional Mexican influence, the sound is hard to pin down without hearing it for yourself, and the Spanish rap adds a layer that doesn't usually show up in the same room. The tour title, Arriba La L, points back to that Guadalajara root, and the run stretches from Texas up through the Mountain West.
