Heavy psych power trio King Buffalo plays The Urban Lounge with support from L.A. WITCH.
King Buffalo play The Urban Lounge on Saturday, October 31, with L.A. Witch opening. It's a Halloween night show, so it fits the bill if you're looking for something to do that evening.
King Buffalo is a power trio from Rochester, New York, formed in September 2013. They describe their sound as "heavy psych," and that's a fair summary: they blend blues-tinged psychedelia with krautrock and stoner rock. The lineup is vocalist and guitarist Sean McVay, bassist Dan Reynolds, and drummer Scott Donaldson. Over the years they've put out four EPs and five full-length albums, including Orion, the pandemic trilogy—The Burden of Restlessness, Acheron, and Regenerator—and Doomsayer. They've toured with Clutch, The Sword, All Them Witches, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, and Elder.
Opening for them is L.A. Witch, a Southern California trio whose reverb-draped, Americana-noir rock has produced a self-titled debut plus Play With Fire and DOGGOD, the latter recorded in Paris at Motorbass Studio. Between the two, you've got two trios on one bill, both leaning into the heavier, psychedelic side of rock.
