Texas singer Jess Williamson plays The Urban Lounge with her album 'A Mile South of Heaven' on her North American tour.
Jess Williamson plays The Urban Lounge on Saturday, February 6, 2027, at 7 PM. She's touring her new album, A Mile South of Heaven, and this is her only Salt Lake City date on the run.
Williamson is a Texas native, raised in Dallas and splitting her time between Los Angeles and Marfa. She blends country and western with mystic alt-pop, and A Mile South of Heaven is her sixth solo album. It's also her debut for the Nashville-based label New West Records, produced by Shooter Jennings at Studio 3 in Los Angeles. She describes it as her most twang-forward solo record to date, drawing on the emotional directness of Lucinda Williams, the storytelling of Guy Clark, and the introspection of Leonard Cohen. Critics have compared her voice to Emmylou Harris.
It follows her previous solo albums Sorceress (2020) and Time Ain't Accidental (2023). The Salt Lake City show is part of the album's North American tour, which kicks off January 11 in Saxapahaw, North Carolina, stops in Toronto and Vancouver, and wraps February 20 in Los Angeles.
