Guided tour of the exhibition 'For the Future: Collecting at the UMFA 2001-2026' led by senior curator Alisa McCusker.
Alisa McCusker leads an Insights tour through For the Future: Collecting at the UMFA 2001-2026 at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts on Friday, October 23. It's a 45-minute walk through the exhibition, and McCusker will be the one guiding the group.
The exhibition itself marks the 25th anniversary of the Marcia and John Price Museum Building. It pulls together the museum's most notable acquisitions from the last quarter century, so you're seeing what the UMFA has brought into its collection since 2001. The tour takes you through those pieces, with McCusker providing the context for why they were chosen and where they fit in the broader story of the museum's growth over the last twenty-five years.
McCusker is a senior curator and the Curator of European and American Art at the UMFA. She's a specialist in Renaissance art and works on paper, and her previous exhibitions have covered medieval and early modern book illustration, Japanese woodblock prints, American Regionalism, and contemporary art in the American West. Before joining the UMFA, she served as Curator of European and American Art at the Museum of Art and Archaeology at the University of Missouri.
