Heavy metal show by GWAR with special guests Midnight, Mac Sabbath and Atomic Rule at The Complex.
GWAR are playing The Complex on Friday, November 13, with special guests Midnight, Mac Sabbath, and Atomic Rule. It's a full bill, and the show starts at 7 PM.
If you're not familiar with the name, GWAR is an American heavy metal band that started in Richmond, Virginia, back in 1984. They've always operated as a rotating line-up of musicians, artists, and filmmakers who go by the collective name Slave Pit Inc. The music is a crossover of metal, funk, and rock, and they've kept going without any of their founding members since their frontman and lead singer, Dave Brockie, died in 2014. The whole thing is as much about the costumes and the characters as it is about the songs.
They aren't coming alone, either. Midnight, Mac Sabbath, and Atomic Rule are all on the bill, so you'll get three opening acts before GWAR takes the stage. Mac Sabbath, in particular, is known for their take on AC/DC, and Atomic Rule brings their own brand of heavy to the mix. With four bands in one night, it's a long evening of metal from start to finish.
