Joy Oladokun plays The Complex - The Grand in Salt Lake City on her 'The Heavy Things Tour', supporting her album 'Hope Is A Heavy Thing'.
Joy Oladokun plays The Complex on Monday, November 2, as part of The Heavy Things Tour. She's the main feature of the night, with Houston Kendrick opening. The Salt Lake City date is one stop on a tour that carries her through the fall, with another date at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium coming later on November 19.
The tour follows the release of her new album, Hope Is A Heavy Thing, which came out September 25 via Concord Records. That's the record she's out supporting, and it's where the tour gets its name. Ahead of the release, she put out a new song called "Kind," so that's one of the tracks you can expect to hear live.
If you've been following her, you know the new material is the focus here. Hope Is A Heavy Thing has been out for a few weeks by the time she hits Salt Lake, so the set will be built around those songs. With Houston Kendrick opening, it's a full bill for the evening.
