Hands-on science session for Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies to explore the solar system and make moon and star art, fulfilling the Space Science Explorer and Adventurer awards.
Girl Scouts @ NHMU: Space Science for Daisies & Brownies is happening at the Natural History Museum of Utah on Saturday, December 12, from 10:15 AM to 12:15 PM. It's a hands-on science session for Daisies and Brownies, and it's built around the planets and stars of the solar system.
The morning is split between learning and making. The science part is all about the solar system—planets, stars, and how they fit together—and the creative part is making moon and star art. It's the kind of session where the kids get to actually do things rather than just listen to a talk, which is usually the best way to keep them engaged.
For those working through their badges, this one does a lot of heavy lifting: it fulfills the requirements for both the Space Science Explorer and Adventurer awards for Daisies and Brownies. Every participant walks away with a participation patch and a certificate from the museum. If you're looking for the GSU badge to go with it, that's available for purchase at the GSU Shop.
