Girl Scout badge workshop for Brownies that fulfills the requirements for the Race Car Design Challenge and Automotive badges.
The Natural History Museum of Utah is hosting a Girl Scouts badge workshop on Saturday, December 5, from 10:15 AM to 12:15 PM. It's part of the museum's ongoing series of Girl Scouts of Utah workshops, which are designed to help Scouts earn their badges and participatory patches in a single session. This one is specifically for Brownies.
What makes this particular morning worth the trip is how much it covers in two hours. The session fulfills all the requirements for the Race Car Design Challenge badge, and it also knocks out both the Automotive 1 and Automotive 2 badges. If your Brownie has been working toward those, this is a way to get them all done at once rather than piecing them together over several weeks. The Race Car Design Challenge is the centerpiece here, so expect the morning to revolve around building and testing.
It's also worth knowing that this isn't the only way the museum works with Girl Scouts. Beyond these badge workshops, they run Girl Scout sleepovers and late nights, so if your kid enjoys the museum, there are other ways to get them back there throughout the year. The workshops are a more focused, daytime version of that.
