Irish noise rock band Gilla Band plays Kilby Court, Salt Lake City's longest-running all-ages venue, with support from PISS.
Gilla Band play Kilby Court on Wednesday, October 28, with PISS opening. The show is presented by KUAA 99.9 FM.
Gilla Band is a noise rock band from Dublin, signed to Rough Trade Records. Their sound sits at the intersection of punk and post-punk, and they've built their name around that particular overlap. If you're familiar with the label, you know the kind of territory they're working in—Rough Trade has a long history with the more abrasive, textured side of the UK and Irish underground, and Gilla Band fits right into that lineage.
They're playing Kilby Court, which is Salt Lake City's longest-running all-ages venue. It opened in 1999 and is owned and operated by @snspresentsslc. The all-ages part is worth keeping in mind if you're bringing a younger crowd along; it's one of the few spots in town where you don't have to worry about age restrictions.
