All-levels live figure drawing class with instructor Chris Maggio, with weekly projects and drop-in sessions.
Workshop SLC is running figure drawing classes in Salt Lake City, and they're an ongoing thing rather than a one-off. You can catch them on Mondays from 10 AM to 12 PM or Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, so there's a morning slot if you're an early riser and an evening one if you're coming straight from work.
The classes are taught by Chris Maggio, who brings a lot of different backgrounds to the table. He's a former college-level figure drawing teacher and a medical illustrator by degree, and he also works as a concept artist, architectural illustrator and designer, product designer, cartoonist, painter, master sketch artist and draftsman. If you're wondering where his head is at when he's not teaching, he's open about it: his personal favorite creative genre is anything nautical.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Salt Lake City and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

As for how the class actually works, it's designed for all levels, so you don't need to be an experienced artist to jump in. There's a different project each week, which keeps things moving rather than just drawing the same thing over and over. You can drop in whenever you like, or sign up for a monthly package if you're planning to make it a regular habit. Between the Monday morning and Wednesday evening sessions, you can pick the one that fits your schedule best.
