Two-day art camp for children in grades 1-6 with Halloween and fall-themed art projects.
Bad Dog Arts is running its Fall Break Art Camp on October 15 and 16, a two-day program for kids in grades 1 through 6. It's designed for the break, so if you've got a young artist at home and you're looking for something to keep them busy while school's out, this is a good fit. The camp runs from 9 AM to 4 PM both days.
The projects lean into the season. Campers make their own unique pieces with a spook-tacular Halloween twist, alongside fall-themed art that uses a variety of materials. The goal is to make seasonal work while building artistic skills and exploring new techniques, so it's as much about the process as the finished product. The kids get to work through the whole thing over the two days, rather than just knocking out a single project in one sitting.
Bad Dog Arts runs the whole thing. They describe their programs as using the creative arts as a vehicle to open young minds and hearts to the possibilities of life — to imagine, to dare, to create — from the belief that young people need a place where they can explore, on a journey, the depths of their creative courage. It's a bit of a mission statement, but it gives you a sense of the environment they're aiming for: a place where kids can actually experiment and take some risks with what they're making.

The camp is at Bad Dog Arts, 824 South 400 West, Suite B-129, in Salt Lake City, and it costs $150 for the two days. That covers the full 9 AM to 4 PM window on both October 15 and 16, so it's a full-day activity for the duration of the break.
