Emo Philips plays The Cabaret at Wiseguys on Saturday, January 2, 2027, at 6:30 PM. It's a stand-up set from a comic who's been at this a long timeโhe started out in Chicago in 1976 when he was twenty, and he's performed more than 6,000 times across the English-speaking world since then, including a multi-week run at the Playhouse Theatre in London's West End.
Jay Leno once called him "the best joke writer in America," and he's earned a reputation among other comics as one of the funniest people on the planetโ"Weird Al" Yankovic is among them. Over the years, he's recorded award-winning comedy albums, filmed several cable specials, including an hour on HBO, and made numerous network television appearances in both the US and the UK. He's also done film work, most notably as the table-saw demonstrator in UHF, and lent his distinctive voice to animated shows like Doctor Katz and Home Movies, though he's always kept stand-up as his first love.
