Stand-up show by Los Angeles comedian Emily Catalano, known for her dry, deadpan humor, at The Cabaret at Wiseguys.
Emily Catalano is playing The Cabaret at Wiseguys on Friday, January 8, and Saturday, January 9, 2027. She's a Los Angeles comedian originally from San Francisco, and if you haven't come across her yet, she's built her name on a very specific kind of delivery: dry, slow, and deadpan, with jokes that grow out of everyday situations. It's not the high-energy, punchline-every-ten-seconds style you might expect from a club set; it's more about the timing and the way she lets a premise sit before she hits you with the turn.
That timing is what people talk about. Time Out LA named her a 'Comic to Watch,' and Vulture described her punchlines as hitting hard because they 'surprise you twice.' She made her late-night stand-up debut on CONAN and has since picked up a following through viral clips on social media, performing alongside some of the top names in the business. Her special, UNSPECIAL, landed on the New York Times' 'Best Comedy of 2024' list, so this is a good chance to see her live if you've only caught the clips.
She's playing The Cabaret, a 250-seat showroom Wiseguys opened at its Salt Lake City location in February 2025. It's the third room they've added to the site, and it doubles as a space for company meetings and private parties, so it's a smaller, more contained room than the main club. That fits the kind of comedy she doesβthe slow pace and deadpan delivery work best when you're close enough to catch the subtle shifts in tone.
