Stand-up show by Don McMillan, the former Silicon Valley engineer and viral comedy sensation who reached the Top 12 on America's Got Talent.
Don McMillan is playing The Showroom on Thursday, November 12, at 7 PM. If you've come across his clips online, you already know the hook: he's a former Silicon Valley engineer who turned to stand-up, and he brings his technical background right up onto the stage with him. He bills the show as The Funniest PowerPoint Presentation You'll Ever See!, and that's exactly what you get—comedy built around slides, where the punchlines land as much from the visuals as they do from the delivery.
That blend of tech and comedy has carried him pretty far. His signature video, Life After Death by PowerPoint, has more than 50 million views and has earned him a following among corporate crowds at Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and Google. He won the San Francisco International Comedy Competition and has appeared on The Tonight Show, HBO and Comedy Central. More recently, he was on America's Got Talent, where he made the Top 12 and performed in the Finals, earning praise from the judges, including Simon Cowell. He was also the first Dry Bar comedian to pass a million Instagram followers.
The Showroom is Wiseguys Comedy Club's first Salt Lake City room, which opened in 2014 at The Gateway Mall. Over the last decade, it's hosted a long list of big names in stand-up, including Tracy Morgan, Kevin Hart, Kathleen Madigan, David Spade, Lewis Black, Maria Bamford, Rob Schneider, Joe Rogan, Ken Jeong and Wanda Sykes. McMillan fits right in with that rotation.
