Free all-ages acoustic show by Cuervita, debuting a new cellist, with their songs and spooky covers around the Mabon autumn equinox.
Cuervita is playing an acoustic set at Natural Law Apothecary on Thursday, October 22, from 6 PM to 8 PM. It's a free, all-ages show, and it's being framed as a Mabon celebration, the autumn equinox that marks the turn of the season.
The night is a bit more than just a regular gig. The band is debuting a new member, @m_o_o_n_c_h_i_l_d_888, who'll be on cello. That addition changes the whole shape of the set: instead of their usual sound, they're stripping things back to acoustic versions of their own songs, with the cello filling in around them. They're also throwing in a few spooky covers, which fits the October date and the Mabon theme.
If you've seen them before, this is a different side of the band. The acoustic arrangements put their songs in a new light, and the cello adds a low, melodic weight that doesn't usually show up in their louder sets. Between their own material and the covers, the whole thing is built around the shift into fall.
