Halloween-themed Creative Lab workshop at the Salt Lake City Public Library where participants make their own trick-or-treat bag and a mask.
The Salt Lake City Public Library is hosting a Halloween-themed workshop at its Main Branch on Friday, October 23, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. It's part of their Creative Lab series, and the focus this time around is on getting your trick-or-treat gear ready before the holiday hits.
Inside the workshop, you'll make your own custom trick-or-treat bag using sublimation markers. If you haven't worked with them before, sublimation markers are a bit different from your standard markers—they're designed to bond with the fabric, so your designs won't just wash away. You get to decorate the bag yourself, which means you can put whatever you want on it rather than settling for something off a store shelf. Alongside the bag, you'll also design a one-of-a-kind mask to round out your costume, so you'll walk away with two pieces of gear in one go.
One of the best parts is that the library provides all the supplies you'll need, so you don't have to bring anything with you. It's also open to all ages, which makes it an easy one to do with kids if you're looking for a low-stress way to get them into the Halloween spirit. If you're more of a solo crafter, that works too—the setup is the same either way.
