Traditional German-style Christmas market with wooden vendor booths, German music and dancing, crafts and traditional foods at This Is The Place.
Christkindlmarkt returns to This Is The Place Heritage Park from December 2 to 5, 2026, running 11 AM to 8 PM each day. It's a traditional German-style Christmas market, inspired by the ones across Europe, and it's run as a 501(c)(3) with a mission to serve and connect the Utah community through a celebration of Christmas.
There's a specific thread that runs through the market: the 'KIND' in Christkindlmarkt. It honors St. Martin's Day, the feast of a soldier who gave the coat off his back to save a freezing man. In Germany, children make paper lanterns and parade through town, and the market keeps that tradition alive with its own Lantern Parade and the St. Martin's Project, which supports a different local charitable organization every year.
Once you're inside, you'll find wooden vendor booths, German music and dancing, unique crafts, and traditional foods. The layout has been reimagined to spread the booths out and leave more room to mingle, so it's easier to wander and take your time. Free off-site parking with a shuttle is available, which takes the stress out of getting there.
