Holiday musical theatre show by the Rocky Mountain Shakespeare Company with musical theatre and pop songs and 'The Nutcracker Suite'.
Rocky Mountain Shakespeare Company brings Candy Cane Dreams to the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center on Thursday, November 19, at 6 PM. It's a holiday show that leans into the theatrical side of the season, and they're performing it in the Leona Wagner Black Box, so it'll be a close-quarters night.
The program is a tribute to show business, built around musical theatre and pop songs that nod to performers like Dolly Parton and Gene Kelly. Tucked into that is Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite, with choreography by Penelope Dunn and Amanda Brown. Between the two, the evening moves from the Broadway stage to a holiday classic, and the company is bringing in guest artists Caleb Wood and Nathan Garrett to join them.
There's a treat element to the night, too: you're invited to snack on chocolate, Irish pudding, candy canes and other sweets throughout the evening. The performance runs 120 minutes, which includes a 15-minute intermission, and it's recommended for all ages. Just keep in mind that every patron needs a ticket, including infants being held.
