Candlelight tribute concert by the string quartet Range Ensemble, pairing horror and thriller film music with classical pieces in the Little America Hotel ballroom.
Range Ensemble brings a Halloween-themed program to The Little America Hotel on Friday, October 30, as part of the Candlelight concert series presented by Fever. The whole thing is performed by a string quartet under the glow of candlelight, so it's a bit more of a mood than your usual night out. The hotel's ballroom is the setting, right in downtown Salt Lake City.
The program leans into the spooky side of pop and film music, paired with a few classical pieces. You'll hear Michael Jackson's Thriller, Tubular Bells from The Exorcist, the Stranger Things theme, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Addams Family themes, alongside Camille Saint-Saƫns' Danse Macabre. It's a tribute concert, not affiliated with the original artists, so the quartet is playing their own take on these scores rather than the original recordings.

The Little America Hotel is a downtown fixture that opened in 1966 as a modest motor lodge and grew into an elegant European-style retreat with 25,000 square feet of flexible event space. The ballroom is where the concert happens, and it's a good spot for a night like this. The show runs from 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM, and tickets are $44.25. Doors open 45 minutes before the start, and there's no entry once it begins, so you'll want to be in your seat before 6:15.
