A bilingual music night presented by Avanza 88.3 featuring live performances by Chac Xol and Eternal Loser, plus a lineup of Latino DJs, celebrating the station's second birthday.
Avanza Live! is at Drift Lounge at Woodbine on Thursday, October 15, from 7 PM to midnight, with doors opening at 6:45 PM. The night is presented by Avanza 88.3, Utah's first bilingual public radio station, which broadcasts in Spanish, English, and Spanglish. It launched in 2024, making Salt Lake City one of only a handful of cities with a station like it. This particular show doubles as a celebration of the station's second birthday and a showcase of Utah's Latino music scene, mixing live acts with some of the state's best Latino DJs.
On the live side, Chac Xol plays cosmic folk and stone blues dreampop from Orem, and Eternal Loser is an indie singer-songwriter. The rest of the bill is held down by a long list of DJs: DJ Causita, Santos Jaguar, Vibros del Lago, DJ Chispa, DJ Lenny, and Danny Elvis. Avanza 88.3 host Byron Gonzalez, known as Cafecito, will be on hand throughout the night. The whole thing is built around dancing and community, with food available next door at Woodbine Food Hall and a reputation for packing the room all night.
