Bilingual 3D design and printing workshop for children aged 10 and over held weekly at the Glendale branch of the Salt Lake City Public Library.
The Salt Lake City Public Library's Glendale Branch is running a 3D Design and Print Workshop on Mondays from October 5 to November 9, 2026. It's a multi-week series, and the session on Monday, October 26, starts at 3 PM. The workshop is bilingual and aimed at kids aged 10 and up, so it's a good fit if you've got a preteen or young teen who's into making things.
The focus is exactly what the title says: 3D design and printing. You'll get to see how a digital model becomes a physical object, and the hands-on part is where it actually clicks. If you've ever wondered how those 3D printers work, this is a chance to move past watching videos and actually try it yourself. Since it's a series, you're not just rushing through one afternoon; you've got time to work through the process.
The Glendale Branch is a great spot for this kind of thing. It opened in February 2015 and was designed by Architectural Nexus. At around 20,000 square feet, it's the largest branch in the city, and it's built to be more than just a place to check out books. It holds 40,000 circulating materials, public computers, a lounge, a green screen room, and a grand piano donated through the Mundi Project. The building curves outward toward the community and opens onto an outdoor plaza, with colored concrete and landscaping that evoke the Jordan River. Inside, the signage draws its colors and forms from the many ethnic backgrounds of Glendale residents.

The workshop is part of that broader community focus. It runs on Mondays through November 9, with the October 26 session starting at 3 PM. You'll find the Glendale Branch at 1375 South Concord in Salt Lake City.
