The North Carolina Symphony performs Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances, with Carlos Miguel Prieto conducting and Vadim Gluzman on violin.
The North Carolina Symphony is bringing Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances to the Meymandi Concert Hall at Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts downtown, with two performances to choose from: Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, both starting at 8 PM. It's a big night for the orchestra, and having two dates means you can pick the one that fits your weekend better.
Carlos Miguel Prieto is conducting, and violinist Vadim Gluzman joins the lineup. The program doesn't stop with the Rachmaninoff; it also features Bartók's The Miraculous Mandarin Suite and Bernstein's Serenade. Between the three, you're getting a full evening of orchestral music that spans different styles and eras, rather than just one piece. The Symphonic Dances is the headliner, and the Bartók and Bernstein fill out the rest of the bill.
