Halloween celebration with 50+ candy stations, trunk-or-treat zone, crafts, games and family entertainment.
Hillsborough St Trick or Treat takes over Hillsborough Street in downtown Raleigh on Sunday, October 18, starting at 2 PM. It's a Halloween celebration that stretches along the street, and the organizers frame it as an event for everyone: college students, working professionals, and families alike, with an invitation to turn up in costume and collect treats along the way.
The main draw is the candy stations—more than 50 of them spread across the route, so you'll be stopping frequently to fill up your bag. There's also a trunk-or-treat zone, where the candy comes straight from the backs of decorated cars. Between the stations, you'll find crafts and games to keep you occupied, and family entertainment running throughout the afternoon.
Because it's an outdoor event along a downtown street, the costume part is a big part of the appeal. You'll see a mix of people from all over the city—students from the nearby campus, people working downtown, and families with kids—all out in their Halloween gear. It's a good excuse to get dressed up and spend a few hours walking the neighborhood.
