A beginner-friendly air hockey tournament held at the Super Rad Retro Lounge arcade bar, open to the public with no sign-up required.
Super Rad Retro Lounge is running a free air hockey tournament on Sundays at 1:00 PM, starting October 18 and continuing through October 25, November 1, and November 8. The games are played on professionally restored air hockey tables, and the lounge bills it as the most beginner-friendly competition in Raleigh. There's no sign-up required ahead of time, and regulars play side by side with first-timers, so you can just show up and jump in.
If you're not there for the tournament, there's plenty to do around it. Super Rad Retro Lounge is an arcade bar in the Glenwood South district of downtown Raleigh, with more than 30 classic arcade games alongside the air hockey and pinball. It's a spot where you can spend an afternoon working your way through the cabinets between matches.
