A Motown Christmas brings the magic and music of Motown with the Motortown All-Stars, presented by Matt Stone, featuring classic hits and holiday songs.
A Motown Christmas comes to the A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater on Sunday, November 29, with the Motortown All-Stars taking the stage. It's presented by Matt Stone, and it's billed as the group's only area appearance this holiday season, so if you're going to catch them, this is the one.
The Motortown All-Stars are a lineup of vocalists and musicians drawn from the ranks of the Miracles, the Contours, and other Motown legends, each of whom has performed with Motown icons on stages around the world. They're backed by a live Detroit band with live brass, and the set works through the biggest Motown hitsโThe Temptations, Four Tops, Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, and the Supremes. You'll hear songs like 'My Girl,' 'Ain't Too Proud to Beg,' 'Ooh Baby, Baby,' and 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' alongside holiday classics like 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' and 'Silent Night,' all performed in that inimitable Motown style, complete with the harmonies, flashy outfits, and choreography the sound is known for.
