Indie rock outfit Wishy performs with The Umbrellas at Mississippi Studios in Portland.
Wishy play Mississippi Studios on Sunday, December 6, with The Umbrellas opening. The Indianapolis indie rock outfit is touring their second full-length, Nature's Pill, which they describe as sugary grunge mixed with indie rock and dream pop. The music video for "Covergirl" is out now if you want to hear where the record sits before the show.
Wishy first made a name for themselves with their 2023 EP Paradise, followed by their debut LP Triple Seven on Winspear in the summer of 2024. That record caught a lot of attention, with Pitchfork, The Observer, Stereogum, NME, Paste, DIY, Dork, The New York Times, GQ, and Alt Press all weighing in on it. 2025 added the Planet Popstar EP, a performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and slots at Kilby Block Party and Riot Fest. Their sound pulls from power pop, indie rock, shoegaze, dream pop, and alternative rock, and Nature's Pill continues that streak.
Opening the night are The Umbrellas, who come from San Francisco. Between them and Wishy, you've got two bands from opposite coasts on one bill.
