Deathcore concert featuring Signs of the Swarm, Aborted, Nekrogoblikon and Party Cannon at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom.
Signs of the Swarm play McMenamins Crystal Ballroom on Wednesday, November 11, starting at 7 PM. They're sharing the bill with Aborted, Nekrogoblikon, and Party Cannon. The night is part of the Nekrogoblikon tour, billed as 20 Years of Nekrogoblikon with Special Guests Aborted.
Signs of the Swarm are a Pittsburgh deathcore band fronted by vocalist David Simonich, who describes the group as a once-in-a-generation beacon that preserves and reframes the sounds that surrounded them. Their fourth LP, Absolvere, blends bleak, smashing, and downtempo deathcore with an ethereal side, backed by Simonich's expanded vocal range. Drummer-turned-bassist-turned-drummer Bobby Crow acted as de facto producer, arranging riffs written across Skype. Simonich's lyrics grapple with the real and the surreal, like a character collecting souls marked by death.
