Folk/Americana artist Ken Pomeroy performs live at Revolution Hall, with support from Iron & Wine.
Ken Pomeroy plays Revolution Hall on Monday, October 12, with Iron & Wine joining her on the bill. The night is presented by Live Nation.
Pomeroy is an Oklahoma native who works in the Folk/Americana world, where she's known for storytelling and musicianship she's been developing since she was young. She picked up a string of national and international accolades between 2015 and 2022, and her sound draws from John Denver, Buck Meek, Jake Xerxes Fussell, and Gillian Welch. That list puts her in a specific lineage: Denver's wide-open folk, Meek's loose fingerpicking, Fussell's lean Americana, and Welch's stark, high-lonesome harmony. It's music that sits comfortably in the acoustic tradition, leaning on a voice and a guitar rather than a big production.
Beyond her own records, she's a skilled guitarist and a versatile session musician. She's lent her playing to projects by Wilderado and Kyle Nix of the Turnpike Troubadours, and she describes her sound as anchored in her Native American heritage, drawing on the voices of a preceding generation. That connection to family and place is a good way to frame her workβit's folk music that feels tied to a specific place and a specific history.
