Portland indie folk artist Blair Borax plays Artichoke Music with folk singer-songwriter Sadie Gustafson-Zook in the 'Live Music @ Artichoke!' series.
Blair Borax plays Artichoke Music on Sunday, October 18, with Sadie Gustafson-Zook opening. It's part of the 'Live Music @ Artichoke!' series run by Artichoke Community Music, a non-profit that builds community through music.
Borax is a Portland artist who started playing in 2016 after a friend gave her a cheap guitar. She quit her day job in 2022 and has been writing and performing since, putting out three full-length albums and playing more than 350 shows across the country. Her third record, The Color Green (2025), is a ten-song collection that searches for hope in dystopian times; her music draws comparisons to Adrianne Lenker, Hannah Cohen, and Angie McMahon.
Sharing the bill is Sadie Gustafson-Zook, a folk artist whose voice is often likened to Joni Mitchell. She was a 2026 NPR Tiny Desk contest finalist and won several folk songwriting contests in 2022. Since then, she's taught songwriting, guitar, and voice at camps including Rocky Mountain Folk Fest's Song School, Kerrville's Song School, and Sister's Folk Fest's Americana Song Academy.
