This Ain't Texas Festival takes over Home Park on Saturday 18 July, a full day of country and Western music and Americana in the heart of Plymouth. It's a one-day festival, so it's a single afternoon and evening rather than a whole weekend, and it runs from 12:00 pm through to 10:00 pm.
The music comes from live tribute acts, so you'll be hearing familiar country anthems rather than new material. Between the sets, there are line dancing sessions to get you on your feet, and the whole thing is built around a Western theme. It's described as a family-friendly event, so it's as much for taking the kids along as it is for spending the day with friends.
Beyond the music, there's plenty to do around the site. You'll find Western-inspired stalls and interactive experiences, with axe-throwing as one of the activities on offer. For food, there's American-style street food and smokin' hot BBQs, and whiskey stalls for when you fancy a drink. The organisers describe it as a relaxed, fun atmosphere where you can spend the day immersed in country culture.
