The Affordable Art Market returns to the Melville Building in Royal William Yard on 2 October, the start of its second run of the year. It's a curated selection of contemporary art bought direct from the makers, with original work from some of the South West's most talented creatives. The range covers landscapes, abstracts, printmaking and ceramics, so there's a fair bit to look through regardless of what you're after.
One of the best things about it is that you can actually meet the artists while you're there and follow their creative journeys, rather than just seeing a name on a label. It's a good way to get a sense of how the work comes together, and to chat with the people who made it.
The setting is Royal William Yard, which was once the largest collection of Grade I listed military buildings in Europe and is now a thriving hub of culture, history and community. The market itself is in the Melville Building, part of The Arcade, so you're right in the heart of it.

As for the practicals, the art starts from £25 and is capped at £500, so it's meant to be accessible. The market runs from 10:00am to 5:00pm, and it's open from 2 October through to 18 October, giving you plenty of time to drop in.
