Monthly fair in Plymouth featuring original artwork, handmade crafts, artisan gifts, and local food stalls.
The Street Arts, Crafts and Food Fair returns to Old Town Street on Saturday 24 October, one of the monthly markets that takes over the centre of Plymouth. It's a gathering of independent artists, makers and small creative businesses, all setting up shop on the street to show and sell their work. If you've been before, you know the drill: it's a good spot for picking up something original rather than something off a shelf.

The range of what's on the tables is wide. You'll find original artwork and prints alongside handmade jewellery and textiles, and ceramics, glass and woodwork. There's also eco-friendly and recycled craft, artisan gifts and home decor. It's not just about the art, either — there are stalls with artisanal food and local produce to browse through. Since it's a monthly thing, the mix of makers changes, so it's worth a look even if you've come to previous editions.
If you're thinking of getting involved yourself, the fair is open to artists and small businesses. To book a stall, you'll need to email enquiries@plymouthartgallery.co.uk. It's a public street market, so it's as much for families and locals as it is for anyone with a particular interest in independent craft.
On the day, the fair runs from 10:00 to 16:00, and there's no charge to enter. If you fancy a break, there's a bit of a perk: you can get 50% off hot drinks at Olive & Twist if you pick up a leaflet in the shop. The fair is on Old Town Street in the city centre, PL1 1DA.
