A seafood cooking demonstration by Chef Matt Corner, in partnership with Seafood Plymouth, showcasing local fish.
Chef Matt Corner is taking over Old Town Square on Thursday 23 July for a seafood cooking demonstration, run in partnership with Seafood Plymouth. The whole thing is built around local fish, so it's a good chance to see how to work with what's coming out of the water around here.
Corner is the one leading the session, and he's not exactly new to this. He brings over 35 years of culinary experience to the table, so he knows his way around a kitchen. The demonstration is about working with local fish, and with Seafood Plymouth involved, the focus stays on the produce we've got right on our doorstep. If you've ever wondered how to handle fresh seafood without overthinking it, this is exactly where you'll find out.
It's an open-air setup in the square, so it's as much about watching as it is about the cooking. You'll see Corner work through the dishes, and with that much experience behind him, he'll be talking you through the process as he goes. It's the kind of thing you can just drift into if you're passing through the centre, or make a proper plan of if you're into cooking.

It runs from 11:00 to 14:00, so it's a lunchtime thing. If you're around the city on a Thursday, you can catch it in Old Town Square between 11:00 and 14:00.
