Brighton's psych-rock band Oral Habit brings their garage rock sound to Plymouth, supported by 2:19 Special and Cool Ant.
Oral Habit are playing The Underground on Friday 11 September, their first time in Plymouth. They're coming from Brighton, and they're bringing two support acts with them, 2:19 Special and Cool Ant, so it's a full night of three bands rather than a single act. Sweet Jeans are putting it on.
Oral Habit describe their sound as psych-drenched garage rock, and that's a fair summary of what they do. It's the kind of music that sits somewhere between the raw, stripped-back energy of garage rock and the more expansive, swirling textures of psychedelia. They've released a debut album through Krautpop!, and this date follows a UK tour, so they're coming to Plymouth with a record behind them and a fair bit of road under their belt.
Because it's their first time playing here, it's a good chance to catch them before they've become a regular on the local circuit. The support acts, 2:19 Special and Cool Ant, mean the night starts well before the main set, so you're getting three bands for the price of one. If you're into psych-rock and garage, it's a straightforward fit.

The gig is at The Underground, 15 Mutley Plain, PL4 6JG, and it runs from 19:30 to 23:00. With three bands on the bill, it's a proper evening's music rather than a short set, so you'll want to leave yourself plenty of time.
