The Cabin in the Woods (2011) Pop Up Film Screening

Eek! Film Club are bringing The Cabin in the Woods to Wilful Beer on Thursday 19 November, a pop-up screening of the 2011 horror comedy. If you've seen it, you know the setup: five teenagers head to a remote cabin in the woods, poke around the cellar, find some things they probably shouldn't have, and realise the whole situation is a lot more complicated than it first seems. It's one of those films that starts in a familiar place and then pulls the rug out from under you, so it's a good one to watch with a crowd.

The night doesn't end when the credits roll. Eek! are rounding it off with popcorn and a limited edition The Cabin in the Woods x Eek! poster, done by a local creative, so there's something to take home. After that, there's a social drink and a chat, which is the best part of these pop-up screenings — a chance to sit and talk through the twists with everyone else in the room rather than just heading straight for the door.

It's all happening at Wilful Beer, 91 Mutley Plain, PL4 6JJ. Doors open at 18:30, with the screening starting at 19:30, and the whole evening running through to 22:00. If you're coming for the social side, arriving early gives you plenty of time to get settled before the film kicks off.
